Since 1999, 1STAGE Repertory Theatre (501c3) has provided performing arts programs in the San Fernando Valley for children of all ages. Our mission is to immerse children in our community to the arts, in a safe and supportive environment, through basic acting, vocal, and dance skills, while building their self-esteem and having fun. We have accomplished this goal by producing hundreds of successful performing arts workshops and productions.

 

The Executive Director

Marya Harrington has a B.F.A. in Theatre Management from California Institute of the Arts. She also studied at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with emphasis in directing for theatre. Marya has been teaching youth theatre professionally since 1989. She began 1STAGE Productions in 1999 as part of the Woodlake Elementary after school program. Since then, the program has continued grow to fill the void of arts programs within our public and private schools. Marya has also worked as a production manager and producer in the entertainment industry for The Walt Disney Company and Universal Studios Hollywood. She enjoys sharing her love of theatre with children, and provides a supportive environment for them to participate in the arts. 1STAGE students make friends and have a positive experience that broadens their futures by improving their public speech, confidence, and education.
